I want to freeze my girls at 10 & 12 forever.
August is cut in half by school & I hate that for me - summer playtime, get-aways with bay views, balancing self-employment workload (24x7) & the start of school. August was one hot (and now cool) month. Technically, it’s summer until September 21st. Please don’t go.
Virtually & IRL Reflections for August:
Yes we traveled.
Yes I did in person yoga.
Yes I went to NYC for meetings and dinners and irl podcast recordings.
Yes I went to an inconveniently timed & stunningly brave lion’s gate sound bath.
And yes, I made time for my virtual practices to fill in the gaps.
Yes, I’m finding ways to feel abundant vs dormant in my money moments.
As a highly motivated intuitive, sometimes real events are too much. I’m really bad at small talk, highly sensitive to environments and have too much to juggle with kids and family. Anyone else with me?
Virtual is a great alternative to pressure of being on or driving all over, creating nervous system havoc.
I’m a virtual veteran, having started working remotely from SF on and off since 2000. My teams, bosses and work were national, so I learned to execute and focus while not in the same conference room.
Virtual benefits: No commuting, no childcare needed, on my own schedule, consistency with teachers I love.
Virtual Movement: I’m dedicated to getting on my mat daily with a library of Embodied movement by MaryBeth LaRue. My mat’s by the door, the fan is on my favorite speed, the kids are in the yard.
Self Care: It would be easy to cancel on myself. Instead, I kept the ill timed (dinner on our last night of vacation) lion’s gate event on the calendar. It was worth every inconvenience to hear myself think.
Virtual Help: I’ve being working with a therapist from Talkspace after my depression post surgery, using Joi Wellness hormone coaches (ask for Beth!) virtually, started working a new coach who is a soul sister and do virtual Voxer collabs with 2 peers on the regular. The best of the best don’t live in my backyard so I why not work virtually.
Recommendations for Resetting Schedules, practically.
My Own Bed: For our family’s nervous system, we are all about sleeping in our own beds, on our own pillows, is an internet vibe like Grace Atwood describes.
Letting others recommend: I’m tired from researching all the things. Why not lean on others? Fran is a writing mentor and an wonderful entrepreneur. Here is her substack with many cool book and workshop recs.
Setting myself up for year end and 2026- Calendar family meetings are a MUST for two business owners with more active kids. As a former corporate junkie, I had to plan a year or more out for budgets. We sat down and did planning for the last half of 2025 and even book vacations for Summer ‘26.
New Media Kit. My latest offerings are around abundance, living in the &, clarity. Getting that refreshed media kit is a must.
Embodiment I’m keeping up- writing, swimming laps, yoga on my deck and getting organized.
Abundance Mindset: My favorite toolkit for the energy of money + Practical ways to get aligned.
