Visualization Vault: Cord Cutting

Finding yourself after attachment

Cutting the Cords: Reclaiming Your Energy
A 9 minute guided practice to release who or what is holding you back. Return to yourself as a whole being.

We all carry energetic ties—connections to people, stories, or expectations that once mattered but now leave us feeling depleted. These cords can be invisible but powerful, keeping us hooked into cycles of guilt, resentment, or over-giving.

This visualization guides you to gently release those attachments.

Feel free to bring as much into this session as needed OR listen as often as needed to cut the cords of multiple things.

Cutting cords doesn’t mean rejecting love or severing relationships entirely—it means calling back your energy, so you’re no longer entangled in what no longer serves you.

Please Note: Read through the details below before you begin Cutting the Cords.

This is a symbolic practice. You don’t need to know the details of every cord, and you don’t need to force anything. If your body resists cutting a cord, simply visualize loosening it or sending compassion through it. The intention is reclamation, not harm.

When to Listen:

  • Feeling drained after interactions or over-giving

  • Unable to stop replaying a conversation or conflict

  • Weighed down by expectations or obligations that aren’t yours to carry

  • Wanting to close a chapter but still feeling energetically tied to it

  • Needing to reclaim energy before starting something new, this might be a former version of you

How To Listen:

  • Position: Sit or lie down in a quiet space where you feel safe.

  • Use headphones: For deeper focus and immersion.

  • Visualize with compassion: Imagine the cords clearly, then gently release them with breath, light, or whatever feels natural.

  • Anchor your energy: Picture your body filling with your own light as you call it back in.

  • After the session: Ground yourself by drinking water, touching the earth, or journaling about what you noticed.

Reflection Prompts:

Were you cords recent or old parts of you?

Where in your body did I feel a release? Was there a temperature shift to cold?

What relationships or stories still feel entangled—what might it look like to reclaim myself from them?

How do I want to leverage he energy I just called back?

Did I feel grief, relief, or both asyou released these cords?
